The Old Quarter and the farmer’s market
Shaped like a ship on the city map, the old town of Wiesbaden is called the “Altstadtschiffchen” (the old quarter ship). Sparkling wine and historic surroundings at Henkell
You may know Copestick Murray. Its parent company at the Henkell Champagne Production Facility, built in 1909, is Germany’s largest sparkling wine producer. A visit to their premises is a true highlight when it comes to German and international sparkling wine and spirits. A guided tour through the historic building, the production area and the shop gives you an insight into a truly sparkling world. The building itself is also worth seeing, with its rococo Marble Hall and the seven-storey-deep wine cellars. There are several guided tours available for groups of a minimum of eight. The Introductory Tour, for example, starts at €8 per person, including a 60-minute guided tour and a glass of sparkling wine. For €25 per person you can take the Pearls-of-Europe Tour, including a 120-minute guided tour and tastings of five international brands. An unforgettable experience for all the senses!
Wiesbaden’s vineyard on the Neroberg
The Neroberg in Wiesbaden, one of the few inner-city vineyards in Germany, produces high-quality Rieslings with long traditions. Not only can one take tours through the vineyard, one can also book a wine tasting on the hillside, with an amazing view of beautiful Wiesbaden and beyond.
